The growth path of eFM recounted by Prof. Aldo Norsa in Il Sole 24 Ore

Il Sole 24 Ore has dedicated an in-depth article to eFM's international expansion, highlighting the development model and vision that is driving the transformation of digital real estate. The article, written by Aldo Norsa and Stefano Vecchiarino and published in the Local Authorities & Construction supplement, describes how eFM is consolidating its role as a global platform capable of integrating engineering, technology and services for complex real estate assets.

A growth model based on integration, expertise and shared vision

In recent years, eFM has embarked on a path of international development based on acquisitions, joint ventures and targeted industrial partnerships. A model that promotes:

  • the integration of local specialisations rooted in the relevant markets;
  • the dissemination of a shared vision of real estate as a service platform;
  • the enhancement of the experience of qualified operators in the various areas of facility and workplace management.

This strategy allows us to combine engineering expertise, digital transformation of workplaces and governance of complex assets, building a global and coherent ecosystem.

Four new operations in the United States, Canada and Europe

Following the acquisitions in 2025 – Archibus Solution Centre Spain and the Italian subsidiary of the US group Opinno – 2026 began with a series of new strategic operations:

1. Acquisition of Applied Data Systems (USA)

A share purchase agreement has been signed for the acquisition of 100% of Applied Data Systems (ADSI), a long-standing North American player in IWMS and CAFM systems.

ADSI supports complex organisations in the corporate, healthcare, education and government sectors, consolidating our presence in a key market.

2. Joint venture with Horizant Solutions (US – Canada)

The entry into a joint venture with Horizant Solutions brings eFM strong verticalisation in the digital transformation of workplaces and extensive experience in projects for government agencies and large organisations.

3. Joint venture with Procos Group (Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal)

Procos Group supports companies in improving the quality of working life for employees and collaborators. The partnership expands our presence in Western Europe and strengthens our positioning in workplace strategy & experience.

4. Partnership with Aestate (Netherlands)

The collaboration with Aestate adds another piece to our European platform, with specific expertise in advanced real estate consulting.

A growing global presence

In addition to its Italian offices in Rome, Milan and Naples, eFM can now count on new local hubs in key strategic areas around the world:

Boston, Madrid, Minneapolis, Munich, New York, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Saarbrücken, San Diego, São Paulo and Santiago de Chile.

With these new operations, the group's presence in North America and Europe becomes structural, promoting an ever-wider dissemination of our approach to digital real estate.

Performance and long-term objectives

According to the Guamari ranking, eFM is now in 22nd place among the leading engineering companies, with a turnover of €44.2 million in 2024.

The integration of the new partners should bring the group's turnover to over €75 million in 2026, with the goal of reaching €200 million by 2030.
