The vision of eFM with Opinno and MIT Technology Review
On 14 and 15 April 2026, Rome will host the new edition of EmTech Italy, the MIT Technology Review format created in collaboration with the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. Over a thousand entrepreneurs and CEOs, together with researchers, institutions and international leaders, will discuss artificial intelligence, biotechnology, energy, supercomputing, personalised medicine and sustainability. Different topics, one common thread: understanding how these technologies fit into industrial models and the lives of organisations. In the run-up to the event, eFM and Opinno are joining forces to bring an integrated vision of innovation: not just technology, but ecosystems, places and experiences.
Emerging technologies and experiential places
During the presentation of the latest news from MIT Technology Review, Daniele Di Fausto announced a significant step forward: for the first time, eFM will launch an ecosystem initiative dedicated to experiential places. “We will see how emerging technologies intersect and intertwine with the theme of space”.’ Company headquarters, university campuses and technology districts are no longer static environments. The adoption of AI, advanced data analysis systems and new collaborative platforms is changing the way people work and interact. As a result, the way spaces are designed and governed is also changing. During EMTECH, eFM will organise a side event dedicated to international and national clients to work on a shared roadmap. The goal is to translate emerging technologies into concrete models of space and governance.
Identity, evolution and new connections
Opinno continues to operate as a growth innovation firm, with its three drivers – Ecosystem Driven Growth, Venture Driven Growth and People Driven Growth – but today it does so within a broader scope. As Silvia Amato explained, joining the eFM group has not changed the company's identity; it has expanded its connections and opportunities for collaboration. The central issue, however, remains another: adopting technology is not enough. We need to interpret what is happening and understand what impact it will have on our country. This also means rethinking the user experience, internal processes and the ways in which organisations interact with innovation. ‘EMTECH is a window on the world,’ Silvia Amato pointed out. A window that allows us to observe international dynamics and assess their concrete implications for the Italian production system.
Two days to decide what the technology of the future will look like
EmTech Italy 2026 will take place at the Campus Bio-Medico in Rome. The format remains focused on direct discussion: sessions, dialogues and round tables designed for decision-makers. Executives and managers will be able to explore how to integrate AI and emerging technologies into industrial models. Researchers and teachers will have a space for discussion on the topics of innovation governance. Entrepreneurs and innovators will be able to engage with public-private ecosystems and potential investors. The first edition involved over 1,300 participants and 78 international speakers. The second edition aims to consolidate this work, with the contribution of partners such as Intesa Sanpaolo, Takeda and a large network of companies engaged in digital transition, including eFM.
Building the future, together
We are living in a historic moment in which the opportunities generated by emerging technologies are extraordinary, but require preparation, vision and responsibility. Interpreting the future means choosing today which models to build, which alliances to activate, which places to design. On 14 and 15 April, these reflections will be transformed into open discussion, concrete cases and shared decisions.
